Almost kicked accidentally as I was walking between the road and shoulder while hiking the other day. I came prepared and scooped the mushroom right up! Second photo shows a lake making process, I'm converting the water extraction/dye into a solid pigment I can use for printmaking ink.

1/11/19 Field Trip: Valley Oak Wool and Fiber Mill

My buddy Donna wanted to get some of her bags of wool washed and made into roving, so why not tag along and hang out with Marcail in her miraculous mill! Marcail graciously showed us around and entertained various and sundry questions about types of wool and how it gets processed at her mill in Woodland CA. She does it all, from scouring wool, to carding, making roving, batting and yarn.
